Children at Risk for Delays |

Through the generous support of the United Way, Childgarden CDC provides supplemental education and therapy services to address the needs of children, ages birth through five, who are at risk for school failure because of developmental delay or disabilities. The CARD project is designed to provide the following services: · Free developmental screening in a variety of community settings · Evaluation in a variety of community settings · Direct work with the child’s family or guardian to develop an appropriate and meaningful plan to identify needs and establish outcomes for the family and child · Development and implementation of an early intervention plan that may include direct intervention, parent education and support, consultation and training to child care providers or teacher, and referrals to other community resources as appropriate.
Who Is Eligible?
Any child who lives in the city of St. Louis and meets one or more of the “at risk” indicators listed below: (other factors may also be considered)· Live in low income families |

· Have been found to suffer from lead exposure · Have been born premature or with low birth weight · Have been prenatally exposed to drugs or alcohol · Live in alternative care · Have a mild to moderate delay in one or more area of development
